Our work depends on a Communications Specialist joining our team to supporting the Office of Inspector General (OIG) for the United States Postal Service (USPS) activities located remotely.You will be responsible for developing strategic communications, incorporating change management principles, developing a communications toolkit, managing social media channels, branding for PowerPoint slide, Word documents, and other communication items for staff use, while providing subject matter expertise on development of strategic plans.At GDIT, people are our differentiator. In this role, a typical day will include:Work with the Communications Manager on executing the day-to-day operations of the team for the Office of Analytics and Innovation (OAI), Outreach and Communications.

Producing daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual publications and announcements for both internal and external audiences

Manage social media channels such as the OIG’s Facebook and Twitter accounts

Manage weekly “Pushing the Envelope” blog and external website content

Maintaining the Communication Center on the OIGs intranet

Develop a strategic communications guidebook that incorporates change management principles

Develop a communications toolkit that includes branded PowerPoint slides, word documents, and other communication items for staff’s use

Provide subject matter expertise on the development of internal clients’ strategic communications plans

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (communications, business administration, strategic planning, or related field of study)

3 to 5 years of specialized experience working with a communications team

2+ years of writing and editing experience for external and internal communications

2+ years of experience working in SharePoint

Experienced with Microsoft Office and SharePoint

Experienced with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Creative Suite preferred

Experienced using knowledge of social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter

Multi-task and effectively prioritize competing needs

Team player with ability to ability to self-start preferred

Work independently in a cross-functional environment and follow through on assignments

Communicate effectively in writing with senior-level management and customers

The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years.
