Description: Boom Truck Operator

Western Building Center Corporate Distribution Yard in Columbia Falls is seeking an outgoing person who takes pride in accuracy and excellent customer service. This full-time, all-seasons boom truck operator position will give you the opportunity to hone your knowledge of the lumber business while providing our customers with the best customer service in the state! Montana CDL required, and a clean driving record is a must. Boom crane operation experience is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided. Heavy lifting will be required, so applicants should be able to lift 80 pounds. A drug test will be administered prior to employment.

PURPOSE

Transport goods from the corporate distribution center to retail and customer locations and placement of materials using a boom crane.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Transport goods from to retail and customer locations

2. Operate boom crane for safe and accurate placement of materials

3. Perform inspections before and after delivery

4. Unload building materials from trailer to retail and customer facilities

5. Plan and pace own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals

6. Maintain logs of vehicle and boom crane repair status

7. Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

8. Other duties may be assigned

COMPETENCIES

Knowledge of company products sufficient to determine appropriate applications

Good customer service and communications skills

Ability to work independently

Ability to read customer orders and follow safety regulations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Clean driving record; Montana CDL

A drug test will be required prior to employment
