Whitefish Mountain Resort is seeking a Front Desk Clerk at the Hibernation House.
The available position is scheduled for a Swing Shift (3pm-11pm) Tuesday-Saturday. This schedule will allow you to play all day with your Employee Summer Season Pass and watch the sunset from your office!

Job Summary: The desk clerk’s objective is to provide a clean, well informed first impression to the WMRL guest and property owners, to reserve properties for walk-in guests, to register guest at arrival, provide communication and delegate instruction to aid in the guest’s comfort during their stay, and clear balances upon departure. Duties will be performed in a friendly and professional manner to the benefit of the guests. The Front Desk is located along the Kintla boardwalk in the upper village.

Job Specifications:
High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Experience in lodging or resort specific front desk duties and guest service preferred.
Office clerical experience preferred, including MS Office, copy/fax, RTP, V12
Per WSI Vehicle Insurance standards: must be at least 21 yrs of age in order to transport guests and possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to be added to WSI’s vehicle insurance policy.
Local area knowledge preferred
Strong customer service background required
Previous experience with cash management, counting a bank and reconciliation are preferred
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Work within the framework of the company and department policies and procedures as set forth in the employee manuals.
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of people and be able to handle a variety of tasks and challenging situations, in a calm and professional manner.
Must be a self starter and able to work independently with little supervision
Multi-task in fast paced environment while potentially adjusting priorities to customer concerns with the highest level of customer service
Demonstrate ability to cross sell other departments and businesses at the resort, and to effectively communicate this information to our guests.
Must be willing to take responsibility for independently proving personal safety and participate in company safety program
Specific Duties:
Ability to use V12 to interact with reservations, answer guest inquiries, and provide notations
Communicate professionally using the internet, Business portal, and email.
Complete related paperwork and guest interaction to register and check-out guests for all WSI properties.
Provide thorough information to guests inquiring about the Resort and the surrounding area(s).
Post and balance all extra room charges
Receive, Clean, Stock and Face product in Village Market.
Sell retail and grocery product interacting with RTP
Responsible for accurately giving change, counting a bank, and closing tills
Clean the public areas of the Front Desk on a daily basis.
Dispatch and prioritize Guest Services Personnel to secure properties and tend to guests needs
Ability to use V12 to enter work orders for maintenance issues
Arrange transportation connections for departing guests.
Perform other tasks as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the department.
Provide professional communication using the base radio communication system and telephones as we act as the after-hours switchboard for the entire resort.
Develop and maintain a professional and positive working relationship with Security Personnel, Housekeeping, and Maintenance in anticipation of solving any guest conflicts or concerns
Work Environment:
Moderate physical activity to include constant bending, stooping, lifting, climbing stairs, shoveling and stretching. On a frequent basis handling objects up to 20 lbs and 50 lbs occasionally.
Ability to be on one’s feet for extended time periods, a minimum of 3 to 4 hours daily.
Ability to sit/stand at a computer work station for periods of up to 4 to 6 hours daily.
Safely drive company vehicles in the performance of daily duties.
Requires use of approved chemical cleaning agents on a daily basis. Cleaning supplies may require use of potentially hazardous chemicals. Proper training of the use of these chemicals will be provided and material safety data sheets will be available for each chemical used in the workplace.
Operate efficiently in an office setting, using computers to communicate and aid guests
Flexibility in schedule changes on short notice is required.
Requires working weekends, evenings, holidays and overtime during peak demand times.

It will be the responsibility of all team members to ensure that our internal & external guests enjoy a safe and risk free environment. All team members must be on constant alert for any unsafe conditions and work behaviors. This will involve, but not be limited to, periodic inspections of work and public areas. Follow up notification will be done to correct the condition or practice at the earliest possible opportunity
