Roles and Responsibilities: This is a hands-on administrative role which is also expected to contribute to the strategic planning and technical day-to-day escalation ‎activities of the team. Scope includes database instances running inWWTdata centers, as well as those located in Oracle Cloud. The candidate will function as a subject matter expert for the ERP team and provide input on technical direction for the core database products.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working at a strategic level, as well as balancing day to day hands-on technical activities.Typical Senior Database Administrator responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • End-to-end monitoring of the platforms for both performance and availability
  • Maintain technical documentation that supports the various systems
  • Troubleshoot complex functional and technical incidents occurring within the various applications
  • Provide on-call support per the published schedule, with the expectation of after-hours support for unplanned service disruptions as well as planned maintenance windows
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with vendors, peer teams, partners and stakeholders
  • Work with project teams as required to design technical solutions to address project requirements
  • Provide technical leadership beyond Core database platform to include supporting technologies that advance platform security, configuration management, monitoring automation and orchestration (i.e Ansible, Puppet, Splunk, Grafana)
  • Identify and collect key performance metrics (KPIs) to help the DBA team better understand its product and how it relates to its customers and stakeholders experience
  • Manage and balance conflicting internal customer needs on the database systems.
  • Assist regularly with database performance tuning
  • Perform database performance analysis and optimization, define bottlenecks, manage testing and production implementation
  • Work with development teams and 3rd party vendors throughout the development life cycle regarding optimal use of database resources and features
  • Maintain technical relevance on Oracle database technology over product release lifecycles.
  • Prepare reports on administration best practices, new technologies, etc., and recommend enhancements and configuration changes to improve and optimize the environment
  • Guide the work of more junior administrators to assist in accomplishing tasks
  • Be able to objectively look at problems and create innovative solutions on your own through automation and outside the box thinking

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Bachelor's degree related to Computer Science/Information Systems is preferred OR equivalent working experience administering Oracle Database
  • A minimum of 5 years of Oracle database administration experience
  • Experience designing, specifying and recommending enterprise database solutions
  • Familiarity with the principles, methods, and techniques used in database systems administration and ability to use relevant hardware and software
  • Demonstrated track record of continuing education and personal development to achieve personal and organizational goals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment
Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Math, Statistics or Engineering
  • Experience with Oracle Database version 18c and above
  • Experience with Oracle OEM 13c and above
  • Experience with Oracle Data Integrator
  • Experience with Oracle APEX
  • Experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication
  • Experience with Oracle high availability (RAC, DataGuard)
  • Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 and above
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Oracle Cloud IaaS/PaaS/SaaS experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Oracle OCI cloud backups
  • Advanced Bash scripting experience
  • Very strong at SQL performance tuning
  • Very strong at system performance tuning
  • Oracle RAC on UCS/Virtualization skills A+
  • OCA and OCP certified
  • Network, storage, compute and OS administrative skills
