Outdoor Educator

A free-spirited, playful and emotionally attuned outdoor educator is needed to assist classes beginning in February at Wilderkids Urban Forest School in parks in St Louis. Someone who is available on a very part-time basis is needed to assist during a once-per- week class and help with office work and substitute as needed as well as attend once/month team meetings. The program consists of part-time, drop-off classes for preschoolers which are completely outdoors and in all weather. Someone who is not afraid of taking risks outside, who can stand dirt and mud and isn’t squeamish about holding bugs plus loves children would be ideal! Must be physically fit too! This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone trying to get their foot in the door with Early Childhood Education or a nature-based learning model or simply enjoys playing and being outdoors. The position would be about 4-5 hours/week.

Leaders to help lead small groups of children in summer at Wildercamp - Forest-school inspired summer camp will also be needed beginning in June.

Background check required

$15/hour with an increase to $20 after the first season.

Willing to work out a work trade for someone who is interested in bringing a child with them to classes.
