The Technical Search Analyst will work closely with members of the team to educate stakeholders and help the organization to evolve its enterprise search platform.

Under general supervision, the role will make recommendations about the methods and ways search data is obtained and analyzed to improve the quality and the efficiency of our omni-channel commerce systems.

This role will perform data mining and predictive analysis to improve the company's understanding of site search performance and identify opportunities for enhancement.

The position will evaluate and test new and existing search features, design A / B test methods and run experiments, use data insights to give feedback on user experience issues, and other tasks needed to keep our omni-channel search platform running smoothly. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Work closely with the team to identify search and relevancy inefficiencies within each commerce platform and brainstorm new tools improvements to streamline them.

Evaluate and test search and browse features and provide feedback on improvements and regressions.

Use query logs, user data, and statistical methods to uncover and address relevance issues.

Analyze judgments and identify patterns from rating generated by expert raters offsite.

Collect and interpret search data.

Identify patterns and trends in data sets.

Design A / B test methods.

Analyze results to identify insights.

Report results back to the relevant members of the business.

Define new data collection and analysis processes.

Create or update project documentation, including visual presentations to convey insights in a wide audience.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Other duties as assigned. SKILLS / EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / ABILITIES Required :

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with strong statistics or analytics focus.

1 or more years of experience in data analysis or business systems analysis with a focus on search editing, research, A / B testing or other similar field.

Prior experience with relevance ranking or scoring of computer applications.

Analytical skills, including experience analyzing large data sets; comfortable generating reports that identify patterns and other key issues.

Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.

Comfortable working with cross-functional teams, Product / Engineers / Data Scientists who build complex search queries and algorithms.

Experience with one or more of the following : SQL, XML, Javascript, R, Python, SAS, Hadoop, and other machine learning programs.

Knowledge of Project Development Life Cycle (PDLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Persistent, results-driven attitude with a dedication to maintaining the highest level of quality.

Ability to communicate clearly, efficiently, and effectively with all levels of the organization. Desired :

Experience with SOLR is preferred.

Strong background in designing multiple types of relevance tests or search quality evaluations.

Prior experience in eCommerce a plus.

Experience working with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, testing tools.
