Job Description

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility:

The Cloud Engineer is primarily responsible for the design, implementation and administration of the company’s cloud environment. Additionally, the Cloud Engineer must have experience managing an Active Directory environment. As Cloud Engineer you will work with multiple teams to ensure the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of the Active Directory environment.

Essential Job Duties:

Level I - Minimum

  • Responsible for the Company’s Cloud environment with a focus on working with Azure platform- Azure AD, MFA, SSO etc.
  • Experience deploying regulatory and security governance using Azure policy and blueprinting tools.
  • Experience with managing O365.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Active Directory with a focus on complying with Microsoft and Security best practices.
  • Creation and management of the active directory infrastructure. Includes FSMO roles, trust relationships, Kerberos KDCs, replication topology, certificate authorities, ADFS, DNS settings, SRV records, etc
  • Primary person in charge of coordination for AD migration and integration activities.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the security compliance of the domain.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting all Active Directory and Azure AD issues.
  • Work under close to moderate supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment
  • Consult with senior peers on non-complex projects to learn through experience
  • Apply basic application management and administration skills with moderate level of proficiency
  • Represent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established Company standards and associate attributes
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Level II – Fully meets the responsibilities of Level I plus the following:

  • Knowledge of information security standards and best practices, including system hardening, access control, identity management and network security as they relate to the Azure and Office365 platforms.
  • Troubleshooting and monitoring of AD connect.
  • Mailbox management including Mailbox permission, delegation, quota management, mail tracking, and mail transport rule creation/modification.
  • Perform technical administrative tasks daily to ensure the stability and availability Azure/cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with enterprise scale multi forest design including trust types, replication topology, data tagging, least privilege access controls, and group policy management.
  • Excellent LDAP skills and knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot connectivity and search issues.
  • Support of corporate servers, user desktops, etc
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills with strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience with HIPPA a plus.
  • Work with little to no supervision with latitude for independent judgment
  • Consult with senior peers on medium to complex projects
  • Assist in overseeing the primary activities of individual contributors (see above) to ensure completion of tasks and attainment of departmental goals

Senior – Fully meets the responsibilities of Level II plus the following:

  • Research, evaluate, and recommend cloud solutions.
  • In depth knowledge of information security standards and best practices, including system hardening, access control, identity management and network security as they relate to the Azure and Office365 platforms.
  • Advanced scripting/programming (powershell/python etc.) skills to automate repetitive processes and develop systems/application integration points
  • Strong experience with enterprise scale multi forest design including trust types, replication topology, data tagging, least privilege access controls, and group policy management.
  • Strong knowledge of advanced Active Directory security concepts and common threat vectors, as well as mitigation approaches and knowledge of isolation/toxicity concepts. Work with little to no supervision with extreme latitude for independent judgement. Proficient in all levels and phases of systems support Partner with key vendors to obtain and maintain required certifications. Serve as escalation point for issues beyond project team authority; resolve conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical issues. May be responsible for budgeting of department's personnel, capital, and/or operation expenses

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Level I - Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience managing Azure, Azure AD, O365.
  • Active Directory, Domain Management and Group Policy Experience.
  • DNS, DHCP, and DFS Experience
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge and management of System Development Lifecycle Methodologies a plus
  • Experience in maintaining technical documentation to insure efficient planning and execution
  • May require technical certification
  • Goal oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
  • High level of proficiency with PC based software programs including MS Office suite and project management tools, MS Project preferred

Level II – Fully meets the qualifications of Level I plus the following:

  • Minimum of 3-7 years’ experience managing Azure, Azure AD, O365.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years server support a must, Windows server, 2012, 2016 & 2019.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of experience planning and implementing Cloud based or Hybrid Active Directory Environments
  • Experience using and applying System Development Lifecycle Methodologies
  • Knowledge of reference lab operations and processes a plus

Senior – Fully meets the qualifications of Level II plus the following:

  • 7+ years’ experience managing Azure, Azure AD, O365.
  • 7+ years server support a must, with Windows server, 2012, 2016 & 2019.
  • 7+ years of experience Design, configure, and upgrading on prem, Hybrid or cloud based Enterprise Level Active Directory Environments.
  • Knowledge of information security standards and best practices, including system hardening, access control, identity management and network security as they relate to the Azure and Office365 platforms.
  • Demonstrated positive experience with System Development Lifecycle Methodologies
  • May require technical certification
