Contracts Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:This position is responsible for providing direction and technical assistance to staff in developing contracts, trains all staff involved in contracting procedures; develops contract monitoring and auditing criteria and assists with overseeing contractor compliance. The position directs and manages large and diverse projects, researching and formulating recommendations to the court administrator or staff person. Develops, maintains and enforces the use of standard contract and requests for proposals. Develops and maintains the contracting manuals and instructions. Reviews contracts for appropriate format, clarity of contractor's scope of work, responsibilities and compensation statements, verifies independent contractor status, insurance limits and indemnification language to make sure they are balanced with the level of risk exposure.A full position description is available from Human Resources atshgrandy@mt.govQUALIFICATIONS:

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in business management, public administration or similar field, and at least two years of experience with managing public contracts. Experience with state procurement rules and statute is preferred.
