So join us-and help us create the next generation of technologies that will shape the future for decades to come.About the role:Research Engineers are responsible for leading scientific research enabling manufacture of innovative device and packaging architectures coupled with the realization of these architectures. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Investigate the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products typically 5+ years prior to landing on a product roadmap.

Initiate and drive the design, development, execution and implementation of scientific and engineering research projects in both fab and laboratory environments to fuel Intel's growth in the areas of computing, communication, technology and manufacturing and new business opportunity.

Collaborate with equipment suppliers to develop new equipment necessary to exploit the understanding gained in research by identifying shortcomings, proposing and evaluating hardware modifications to mitigate issues.

Participate in the transfer of viable technology options to the internal technology development team.

Maintain substantial knowledge of state of the art principles and theories, and contributes to technical literature and conferences.

Participate in development of intellectual property.

Start today.QualificationsMinimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.Minimum Qualifications:PhD in Mechanical, Manufacturing, System or Optical Engineering

Specialization in Precision Engineering, Opto-Mechanics, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, Robotics or nano-scale imaging systems

Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge in:Sub-micron motion systems

Theoretical mechanics and characterization methodologies.

Micro- and/or Nano-fabrication processes and analytical methods

Surface characterization and engineering
