Medical Billing Specialist

Description We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In this role, you'll be tasked with various responsibilities related to medical billing within the healthcare industry. You will be crucial in ensuring the smooth running of billing operations, by maintaining accurate patient records, processing claims, and resolving any patient or insurance company-related inquiries.Responsibilities: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient billing information Submit medical claims to insurance companies in a timely and accurate manner Process payments from insurance companies and generate patient statements for charges not covered by insurance Verify each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discounts If necessary, identify and bill secondary and tertiary insurance companies Review accounts for potential collection actions Resolve patient complaints or clarify charges and insurance issues Comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws and maintain patient confidentiality Prepare reports detailing accounts receivable status and performance Stay updated with changes in medical billing regulations and insurance guidelines Conduct routine audits and report issues to management promptly Utilize skills in Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), EHR SYSTEM, Epaces, Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, Benefit Functions, Billing Functions, and Claim Administration.
