Job Description

SUMMARY: The main responsibilities of this position are: Support effort to increase revenue for Oral Solid Dose (OSD) product lines, specifically granulation and coating equipment. Provide expert consulting on granulation and coating processes to our pharmaceutical customers. Act as a liaison between the US sales team and the Huettlin team in Germany to ensure North American market demands are being met (products, market pricing, and deliveries).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for customer and market activities, including sales and profitability targets for granulation and coating equipment.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and prospects.
  • Lead market intel efforts for granulation and coating equipment. Determine competitive situation and develop strategies to facilitate short and long-term sales and customer satisfaction. Provide feedback to product management / application engineering on industry trends and competition.
  • Act as first point of contact for Regional Sales Managers on granulation and coating applications.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate customer product testing at Syntegon labs in Minneapolis, Schopfheim, Germany, and Waiblingen, Germany.
  • Analyze and summarize test results - generate test reports and present results to our customers;
  • Establish strong relationships and be the technical liaison between the US sales team and the Huettlin team.
  • Participate in sales calls through personal visits and virtual platforms with customers and prospects in tandem with the regional sales managers.
  • Provide assistance, support and consultation to engineering and customer during the project cycle. Attend important project meetings; participate in key decisions.
  • Represent Syntegon at various trade shows and conventions.
  • Will travel domestically and internationally from 30 to 50% of the work-year.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Pharmaceutics, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • Must have a minimum of 2+ years of laboratory experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Industrial equipment experience is preferred
  • Experience within pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge or experience in FDA pharmaceutical area helpful
  • Strong skills in self-organization and independent work
  • Excellent service orientation with customers and company employees
  • Patience and tenacity to endure a long term sales cycle and success with establishing new customer contacts
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
  • Presentation and public speaking skills highly preferred
  • Hands-on ability to operate pharmaceutical oral solid dose equipment desirable
