RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client in Warren, MI that is seeking a Design Release Engineer - Pump/Filter/Transmission.

Responsibilities: In this role, the Design Release Engineer will lead the Design, Development, and Validation activities for Pump, Filter & Accumulator assemblies and their respective components including rotational elements, hydraulic routing, internal valves, springs, castings, bearings, bushings, and shafts from concept through production Bringing components to production at global volumes by leading a cross-functional team comprised of Design, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supplier Quality Engineering, Development/Validation, as well as Supplier representation Owns the GF9 Pump/Filter/Accumulator Statement of Requirements (SoR), component timing plan, issues, warranty returns, etc. and manages details when changes are required Generate, update, release Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEAs) and Design Review Based on Failure Mode (DRBFMs) Releases parts for production and provides continuous engineering support while in production The Design Release Engineer manages the cost, quality, mass, etc. for the GF9 Pump/Filter/Accumulator, ensuring a robust yet cost and mass efficient design Supports pre-production build events including both physical and virtual builds Assists bench marking analysis to support innovation, trade off or cost /benefit analysis Communicates, coordinates, and consults with other engineering departments, suppliers and customers for overall engineering activities Presents status updates to Transmission Chief Engineer and Program Team on a regular basis Develops engineering designs (including subsystems) Authors and follows through on ECRs (Engineering Change Request) The Design Release Engineer plans and implements test and/or development programs of driveline components or assemblies Releases parts and subsystems for prototype or production

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited University 5-7 years of engineering experience in Driveline and/or Powertrain components/assemblies Extensive knowledge and experience in product release Excellent communication and collaboration skills with others within and outside of company Ability to work professionally with suppliers and vendors directly Demonstrated ability to solve design/manufacturing issues quickly as part of a multi-functional team Resolve engineering issues, present at multi-functional meetings and track to implementation Ability to deal optimally with ambiguity and forward-thinking environment

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Engineering DFSS Green/Black Belt Certification Previous DRE experience Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA and GD&T
