Description Legal Assistants directly support lawyers and may be required to supervise other legal staff, such as legal secretaries or file clerks. Legal Assistants should have strong analytical, communication and organizational skills, as well as computer and technical knowledge. Three to five years of legal experience in a law firm or other corporate legal department may be preferred.Responsibilities:Perform computer database input and retrieval
Draft correspondence and memorandum
Reorder e-documents and files into proper categories
Maintain matter management and record keeping
Ensure documents are ready for photocopying and scanning
Complete legal research and investigative tasks, including obtaining information or documents from outside parties, as directed
Maintain documents and assemble data as directed by lawyers and paralegals
Seek and retrieve electronic documents from a variety of court and agency web sites
Check copies against originals to confirm accuracy
Be in charge of word processing, filing and faxing
Requirements
Requirements:Investigating the factual evidence of a transaction or case and preparing exhibits, charts and diagrams to display information
Conducting routine discovery
Westlaw and Microsoft Suite experience
Dictation
Strong familiarity with Personal Injury Law
Insurance defense experience
Comprehensive knowledge of Legal Assistant
Demonstrated knowledge of court filing
Practical knowledge of Schedule Depositions
Civil litigation experience highly desired
Command of Litigation Legal Assistant
Adeptness in e-Filing
General familiarity with Calendar Management
Organizing and tracking files for important transactions or case documents
Experience assisting lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials and conferences
2+ years of relevant experience
Drafting legal court documents
