Direct Hire opportunity for a 1st shift Mechanical Technician in Sterling Heights.1st shift 5am - 3:30pPay: $22-25/hrBenefits: $40/week family health coverage (less for single coverage) - All benefits start day 1 except for 401k match after 3 months.As part of the Engineering group, the person in this role will perform mechanical shop assembly, troubleshooting and initial commissioning of custom mechanical systems incorporating company technologies.Additional Requirements :Knowledge of standard mechanical engineering industry practices

Assist with problem definition, analysis, and solution development.

Read and interpret assembly blueprints or specifications manuals and plan assembly or building operations.

Assemble systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes.

Verify conformance of parts to stock lists or blueprints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers.

Position or align components for assembly, manually or using hoists.

Fasten or install piping, wood, fixtures, or wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies, using hand tools, power tools, or welding equipment

Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to customer specifications

Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies.

Maintain and lubricate parts or components.

Occasional travel to project sites may be necessary. (Very minimal)

ExperienceAssociates Degree plus 3-5 years’ experience. Additional experience will substitute for degree

Solid experience, and ability to work with blueprints and other shop drawings

Abilities to troubleshoot Mechanical Issues from an Engineering perspective

Knowledge of proper use of overhead cranes, Hilo's Preferred

Good working knowledge of basic machining methods such as milling, drilling, tapping, turning, etc.

Provide personal hand tools for assembly operations.

Welding experience a plus.
