Role and Responsibilities

• Ability to effectively LEAD, cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships to source, qualify, and maintain consistent, high quality commodities at low total landed costs.
• Build, develop and mentor a team
• Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, services, etc.)
• Experience handling commercial issues with suppliers, assessing supplier performance, and driving positive outcomes
• Proven competence in negotiating skills
• Strong professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

Requirements

• At least 3+ years' related buying/purchasing experience in the automotive industry
• High School Diploma or GED required (Associates or Bachelor's Degree is a plus!)
• Knowledge of materials management
• Capable of interpreting market data
• Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents
• Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes
