Unreal Developer - Scientific XR to join our visualization team. This role is open to any location near a

GHD hub office in the US. The Unreal Developer will be responsible for planning and implementing functionality, building code, identifying bottlenecks, and ensuring the quality of the finished product. This position will focus on developing mixed reality (MR/XR/AR/VR) applications for mobile and headset devices. This role may also require the Developer to build patches and install updates. To ensure success in the position, you should have extensive experience working with Unreal software, excellent coding skills, and a good eye for detail. A top-class Unreal Developer can visualize, design, and code within and outside of the Unreal development environment. You will be encouraged to facilitate and support internal projects for GHD Digital Mixed Reality & Digital Engineering (MRDE). You will be involved in planning, implementation, coding, and coordination of projects to ensure project goals and objectives are accomplished within approved time frames, scopes, and budgets.

Responsibilities:
  • Establishing strategy and development pipelines.
  • Planning and implementing functionality within Unreal.
  • Transforming design ideas into functional projects.
  • Crafting and building visualization projects.
  • Identifying and fixing code errors and game bottlenecks.
  • Testing game functionality and theme dynamics.
  • Ability to work in fast paced, agile, and multiple stakeholders' environment.
  • Handle project budget, cost, and schedule.

Must Have Skills:
  • 3-7 years' proven experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar field.
  • 2 years of other graduate education desired.
  • Previous experience in and in-depth knowledge of Unreal Engine.
  • 3D development and integrated game physics
  • Scripting, animation, session management, and textures

Good to Have:
  • Memory and space optimization
  • Proficiency in C
  • Deployment on mobile (iOS, Android, Windows), desktop, and console
  • Experience developing mixed/extended/augmented/virtual reality applications deployed to mobile and headset devices.
  • Strength in independently troubleshooting and researching solutions to roadblocks that emerge in development.
  • Python and HTML coding experience. Experience using R, C#, or other language
  • Unity 3D development experience

Skills, Proficiencies and Qualifications:
  • Experience in Chemistry, Geology, Environmental Science/Studies/Engineering is a strong advantage.
  • Desire to innovate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • High initiative, outstanding interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with minimal direction.
