This position with also be responsible for maintaining best practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the fixed asset system. Reconcile details in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger balances, including related journal entries and variance calculations. Prepare monthly depreciation and amortization entries for fixed assets and capitalize construction projects as completed. Reconcile GASB 87,94, and 96 accounts and prepare related journal entries. Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets and recommend to management whether fixed assets should be disposed. Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets. Participate in the month end closing, prepare monthly and annual financial reports and workpapers related to the annual audit. Monitor system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets. Provide analytical research as needed on Fixed Assets Management of the Fixed Asset SystemRELATED JOB FUNCTIONS:Respond to all requests for project information. Coordinate meetings and tasks with other units across the organization. Develop, install, test, and monitor systems including software applications, conversions, and upgrades monitoring.SUPERVISION EXERCISED:May supervise a process, functional unit, or team as needed.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESKNOWLEDGE OF: Intermediate/Advanced Excel experience Business technology, data management systems, and applications Project management Analysis and reporting techniques Promote and foster a teamwork environment. Exercise superior computer, analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skillsSKILL TO: Drive change and initiate process improvements Prepare and maintain data and reports. Pay close attention to detail. Establish and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) Negotiate and develop solid internal and external relationships.ABILITY TO: Organize work to meet tight deadlines. Maintain effective working relationships with others. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Communicate frequently with team members and other units across the organization about the process, equipment, or potential problems.Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (position requirements at entry) Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required. Three (3) or more years of experience in a financial and/or accounting environment is required.
