- 6 years of experience in a formal research setting (i.e., using scientific method, designing instruments, fielding work, analyzing data)
- 1 year of experience analyzing first party customer data
- Experience with advanced techniques such as imputation methods, conjoint analyses and factor analyses
- Experience developing research reports, data visualization and storytelling techniques that result in solutions delivered in a format that is easily digested and understood
- Bachelor?s degree in market research, psychology, sociology, ethnography or related field
- Demonstrated success integrating and interpreting large datasets and distinguishing key findings and insights
- Demonstrated success in data wrangling such as procurement, validation, manipulation and the documentation thereof
- Demonstrated expertise determining the best market research/analytic methodologies for qualitative, quantitative, primary and non-primary research data/resources
- Advanced knowledge in different research methodologies (including experimental designs), when to use one over the other and how to best combine them to create a multi-modal design
- Intermediate understanding of ethnographic and user experience principles and methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to apply methodology brokering, statistical measures and probability theory
- Demonstrated ability to communicate through candor, open discussion and constructive debate
- Demonstrated ability to apply a scientific approach to answering questions and/or solving problems
- Proficiency in a preferred statistical software program and Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and/or Prezi
- Knowledge of qualitative research analysis software
- Experience synthesizing market research with sources of non-primary market data
- Experience triangulating market research with non-primary sources and institutional knowledge
- Advanced degree such as master?s in market research, business administration, statistics or a related field
- Human Centered Design certification
- Build research plans based on scientific method
- Create appropriate research models based on the type of data and number of variables/factors
- Collect both qualitative and quantitative data in an appropriate manner
- Analyze data using appropriate statistical methods based on research model
- Identify insights from data that drive product and marketing investment, experience strategy and design
- Answer research questions by integrating results from the data and knowledge of human behavior
- Develop business cases from research to drive commercial viability, identify product pain points and provide solutions to increase the company?s competitiveness in the market
- Manage third-party resources extensions and is fully accountable for what they produce
- Challenge business leaders when limitations would invalidate/jeopardize investigation
- Stay abreast on emerging and established market trends
- Build effective data visualization models that use storytelling and other narrative techniques for non-technical audiences
- Execute research plan based on stages in EPIC priorities to ensure decisions are made using scientifically sound results
- Integrate data into business decisions by providing unbiased views of product performance and perceptions
- Comply with code of ethics and laws when performing research with client data
- Guide leadership and project teams through the requirements for research/analytics and data-driven insights to assure a successful commercial approach
- Guide business decisions based on their extensive understanding of the market and research techniques
- Support other analysts during research planning and challenging methodology scenarios
