- Client'sPowertrain Calibration & Evaluation 1 Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivatedEngine Calibration Engineer.
- The primary responsibility of this role is to participate in and lead engine calibration related Early Detection / Early Resolution (EDER) activities for North American market vehicles.
- Reporting to the Senior Manager of EFI Calibration LA, the person in this role will support the Powertrain Calibration & Evaluation 1 department's objective to calibrate world class powertrains in America.
- Participate and lead in diagnosing engine calibration related field issues for North American market vehicles.
- Analyze various types of data and reports. Develop new procedures and tools for testing, data analysis, and calibration.
- Travel to dealerships/region offices located anywhere in the US with short notice for Go and See activity.
- Prepare and manage issues list and resource schedules to meet deadlines.
- Provide technical expertise in powertrain calibration to non-powertrain groups.
- Identify, investigate, confirm, report, monitor, track and follow-up until resolution, all engine calibration quality issues.
- Feedback engine calibration market issues to calibration groups.
- Plan and perform tests independently.
- Write technical reports to feedback to other engineers and management.
- Identify failure modes to duplicate customer complaint condition.
- 4 year engineering degree or equivalent (equivalent = 8+ years' experience in engine related market investigation or engine calibration
- 3+ years' experience in automotive
- Experience engine calibration development (emission, drivability) (2+ years)
- Thorough understanding of IC engine theory/practice (3+ years)
- Strong problem solving and communication skills to report statresults (2+ years)
- Advanced engineering degree
- Experience with C/C and Matlab/Simulink (1+ year)
- Experience mentoring/developing new engineers in a professional environment (<1+ years)
- General understanding of OBD > > Do you have experience evaluating/testing OBD monitor performance
- Alteryx and Power BI experience
- Experience with analyzing large data sets
