Position: Supply Chain Specialist GENERAL FUNCTION:The Supply Chain Specialist (SCS) has broad ranging responsibilities in all aspects of Supply Chain operations and is responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day supply chain business results are achieved. This role combines analysis and reporting along with hands-on application within each of the departments in Supply Chain to ensure excellence in the overall performance of the operations. The SCS will provide leadership of the Shipping, Inventory, Assembly, Planning & Purchasing teams whenever needed. In this position, you will be responsible for all supply chain management duties including selecting carriers, researching shipping methods, assessing budgets, and organizing storage. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail to oversee daily operations. In addition to having excellent organizational skills, you should also possess in-depth knowledge of logistics and inventory systems. They must be able to create strategies by analyzing information and processes and present their findings.Supply chain management requires an understanding of accounting, legal documents, and to build lasting relationships as they increase efficiency and focus on warehouse optimization. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Select carriers and negotiate contracts and rates
  • Plan and monitor inbound and outgoing deliveries
  • Supervise logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
  • Organize warehouse, label goods, plot routes, and process shipments.
  • Respond to any issues or complaints
  • Research ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers.
  • Work with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations.
  • Evaluate budgets and expenditures.
  • Update and evaluate metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
  • Assist logistics process for the development of new products, inventory maintenance, manufacturing, shipment and delivery, and returns on products.
  • Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to help management understand the logistics perspective.
  • Build relationships within the company and with external parties, such as suppliers or distributors.
  • Read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts or import/export agreements. Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
  • Understanding of principles of accounting and finance.
  • Collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds to identify problems and find solutions.
  • Ensure all material requisition orders, regular sales orders, and transfer warehouse orders are fulfilled on a regular basis.
  • Assist, support, and provide backup coverage for all Supply Chain team members.
  • Maintain and updates ERP and make sure accuracy level is optimum.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary education degree in business, with a focus on supply chain management, inventory control, manufacturing, or materials management or a Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of supply chain and operations experience required
  • Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience in inventory management
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain Management (SCM) software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, and/or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software.
  • Understanding of integrated supply chain and logistics concepts and theories.
  • Hands-on experience with logistics, inventory management, and procurement.
  • Purchasing experience is an asset
SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Ability to manage logistics of all aspects of supply chain, from product development to the shipment of finished items.
  • Understanding of accounting or finance.
  • Must be able to comprehend legal documents.
  • Strong communication skills and the desire to build lasting relationships with people all over the world.
  • Multitasking and prioritizing capabilities
  • Strong problem solver and able to create solutions to challenges in an expedient manner
  • Excellent computer skills (e.g. Outlook, ERP Systems)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
