Job Description

This role is an integral part of the Commercial Accounting team, responsible for aspects of U.S Commercial Accounts Receivable with a primary focus on cash application and return credit memo issuance. This role is also responsible for preparing and processing monthly journal entries, handling accounts receivable specialty items as assigned and requires significant communication with external customers. This roll will include collaboration with various members of Market Access and Reimbursement, Finance, and our third-party business partners.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure cash is applied in a timely manner, including identification and resolution of any discrepancies
  • Prepare and maintain prompt pay analysis ensuring contract compliance
  • Process credit memos for product returns per company policy and liaise with our third party returns provider to resolve discrepancies, in addition to working close with our Distribution & Logistic teams
  • Responsible for managing external customer relationships, which includes issuance of invoices and miscellaneous credit memos to external customers
  • Align with Government Pricing team for preparation of monthly Government Pricing reconciliations and ensure data accuracy
  • Preparation of monthly Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) analysis and applicable accounts receivable reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, contracts and Biogen policies and procedures
  • Coordinate support for internal and external auditors, including walkthroughs, variance analysis and detail testing
  • Drive business and accounting process improvements in the areas of cash application and returns processing
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, as needed.

Qualifications

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, plan, prioritize workload and result oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with team members and perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Oracle experience using Accounts Receivable a plus
  • Experience using Revitas/Model N Revenue Management a plus
