We have an opportunity for an electrical engineer who is seeking to utilize their strong academic background and experience in High Power/High Voltage Transmitters. Responsibilities include design and hands-on testing of high voltage/high power RF components plus providing technical support to production activities.Team leadership skills including cost and schedule management plus proposal writing and presentation experience are desired.Some travel to integration sites, plus customer and subcontractor facilities, may be required.Required skills:8+ years of experience with high voltage regulated power supply design and testExperience with high power vacuum tube amplifier design and test or equivalent using solid state GaN amplifier technologyMicrowave/RF system, subsystem and component analysis, design and testHands-on experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, Maxwell and analytical tools such as MatlabDesired Skills:Experience in high voltage electrical breakdown phenomenaExperience in corona discharging effectsFamiliarity with techniques in avoiding electrical arcing in waveguide/coaxial transmission systemsPropensity for learning through self-study, and being comfortable in a multi-tasking environmentExcellent written and oral communication skillsExperience leading smalls design teamsUnderstanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component levelExperience in a production environmentExperience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentationsExisting Secret clearance or ability to obtain a secret clearance with interim clearanceMasters Degree or PhDRequired Education:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or STEM majorU.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.166743Raytheon is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
