Our program offers practical work experience in a business environment, with the opportunity to contribute and add value to the organization. We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineering co-op for fall 2023 to work closely with the Continuing Engineering Group, which is responsible for investigating engineering related issues for all the released Semiconductor Test Systems. The role is based out of our headquarters in North Reading, MA.
The co-op will need to be on-site in North Reading throughout the week to manage the 3D printers, but the role has hybrid flexibility.
We are not able to offer relocation assistance.
This is a 6 month co-op, from July 2023 through December 2023.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the 3D printer for prototype work
Design and develop parts for implementation in field products
Use SolidWorks to create parts, assemblies, drawings, and FEA simulations
Participate in team meetings, and present quantitative and qualitative findings in an organized and professional manner
Investigate and create solutions for various “cases” associated with released products, and then create ECO/ECNs (Engineering change orders/notices) that notify affected parties of the change
Lead critical time sensitive projects from root cause analysis through design verification
Skills
Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks part creation, drawings, and large assemblies
Knowledge of drafting and design standards (ANSI Y14.5 GD & T)
Understanding of design for assembly and manufacturing (DFA and DFM principles)
Technical and professional writing experience
Ability to quickly learn and apply new information
Must be independent, self-motivated, team oriented, and “hands-on”
Must have excellent organization and communication skills to work with cross-functional groups
Education
Must be at least in your sophomore year (ideally junior or senior), working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering
