Ranked 35 among national universities, Boston College has 888 full-time and 1,281 FTE faculty, 2,711 non-faculty employees, an operating budget of $1.4 billion, and an endowment in excess of $3.5 billion.Job DescriptionNurse PractitionerThe Health Services Nurse Practitioner functions as an active member of the Boston College University Health Services team. University Health Services has approximately 150 outpatient visits per day including undergraduates, graduates, faculty, staff, and visitors. In addition to the Outpatient Unit there is a 10-bed infirmary unit which provides overnight nurse monitoring for those students requiring observation. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing episodic, continuing care and health education for the student population including student athletes. In addition to the office practice, responsibilities include periodic call and weekend coverage.Successful candidates will have:
Skill and proficiency in performing primary care health assessments and treatment.
Experience with computers, using word, excel and other medical office management software.
The ability to successfully communicate with, and provide care to students and community members of all backgrounds and experiences.
The desire to be an integral part of a team dedicated to care of the whole person
An openness to feedback and reflection to gain productive insight into strengths and weaknesses
The ability to confidently navigate uncertain situations with both patients and colleagues
Readiness to adapt personal and interpersonal behavior to meet the needs of our patients
In order to create a more inclusive community within the Division of Student Affairs, each staff member is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $97,000 to $121,250; salary commensurate with relevant experience.Requirements
Licensed with the State of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing with authorization to practice in the expanded role as Nurse Practitioner
Master’s Degree required in Nursing
American Nurses Association Certification in Adult Health
Certification from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Board of Registration in Nursing with authorization to practice in the expanded role as a nurse practitioner
Current authority for prescription writing
Electronic Medical Record experience is required.
Demonstrated experience working and communicating effectively with diverse populations and creating inclusive and belonging work environments.
Experience working in a university setting is preferred.
Experience in coordinating health services and liaising with other health care professionals.
Strong attention to detail.
