Job Description
- Independent and thoughtful experimental design to define scientific questions to generate testable hypotheses
- Careful execution of experiments, including but not limited to, testing experimental drugs in vitro and in vivo for target engagement, pharmacodynamic effects, and efficacy
- Quantitative data analysis and presentation of results to the team
- Work with cross-functional teams, provide general department study support, including training and mentorship of junior team members
- Stay abreast of relevant and current literature, methods, and techniques
- Maintain notebook with experimental details, write data reports and present results at various internal meetings
Qualifications
- Excellent technical skills and attention to detail
- Must be adept at following, modifying protocols and troubleshooting, when necessary
- Proficient in molecular and cell biology techniques such as ddPCR, qPCR, RNA-Seq, ELISA, MSD, IP, Western, cloning, imaging by IF/IHC
- Cell culture and aseptic techniques
- Experience with gene transfer or gene editing (AAV, lentivirus, CRISPR)
- Rodent handling techniques, basic and advanced dosing, blood collection, tissue harvesting and processing for RNA and/or protein
- Strong interpersonal skills, highly organized and goal oriented
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate closely with researchers across the organization.
- BS/MS in biological sciences with a minimum of 2 years academic or industry experience
