Job Description: Associate Director/ Principal Scientist Cell Therapy Process Development 1294997

Location: Watertown, MA (On Site)

Science/ Focus: Cell/ Gene therapy

Job Overview: This Principal Scientist/ Associate Director of Cell Therapy will play a key role in driving CMC Process Development efforts and will interface cross-functionally with key stakeholders and management while mentoring junior level scientists, supporting regulatory filings, and acting as a key leader within the CMC team.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and drive the process strategy for release and characterization for all cell therapy programs
Leads from the bench- key lab personnel to setup foundational functionality with future support from junior team members.
Independently authors method documents, protocols, and reports.

Qualifications:

Advanced education (PhD or MS) with 4+ years working full time in process development in an industrial setting.
A minimum of 2 years of management experience leading cell therapy process development activities.
In-depth biological knowledge and technical experience in various cell therapy modalities (CAR-T, HSC, NK, Treg, iPSC)
Expertise in complex process development campaigns with special emphasis on iPSC and/or T-cell cell-based systems. Hands-on experience in unit operations including: wash/concentration, selection, differentiation/culture, payload delivery, formulation, fill/finish, and cryopreservation.
Well-versed in cell therapy manufacturing tools in a GMP manufacturing environment.
