Job Description

The Regional Account Director (RAD) will secure profitable access for Biogen’s growing portfolio and serve as the single face of Biogen to develop and execute a strategic plan for key regional accounts with Payer, Integrated Health System, and Pharmacy Benefit Management customers. RADs have a deep understanding of local marketplace trends and use executive relationships to seek innovative ways to expand Biogen growth opportunities in Neuroscience. The RAD leads regional and cross-functional internal collaboration, inclusive of regional and corporate business leaders, to drive execution that optimizes portfolio revenue, facilitates broad access (pharmacy and medical benefit), and maximizes patient outcomes. The RAD reports into the Director of Regional Accounts for Biogen’s Market Access & Reimbursement division (MA&R).

What You’ll Do

· As the main point of contact for Biogen, the RAD will take an enterprise approach to secure profitable access in both pharmacy and medical benefit design for all Biogen products with all insurer segments of the customer business

· Collaborate across a broad team of internal stakeholders to implement brand strategies within regional accounts to achieve Biogen business goals

· Communicate customer insights and market trends to HQ personnel to shape current and future strategies.

· Demonstrate the pharmacoeconomic value of our industry-leading products and services

· Accelerate innovative customer initiatives

· Develop strategic customer business plans aligned to Biogen Business Framework and MA&R objectives

Who You Are

This role appeals to creative and strategic problem solvers who enjoy collaborating cross-functionally and can exert influence at all levels. Excellent communication skills, learning agility and a desire to constantly learn complex clinical, analytical, and environmental trends are essential to RAD success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven years biotech/pharma experience required with preference in specialty biologics
  • Five years in managed markets account management with a strong understanding of healthcare dynamics within the region
  • Working knowledge of regional payers, IDN/Integrated Health Systems, Physician Medical Groups
  • Experience working with provider-administered drugs and infusion site of care delivery settings
  • Product launch experience in environments that require formulary committee decision making
  • Expertise in pharmacy and medical benefits coverage policies is essential

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with Horizon BCBS, Geisinger, and Independence BCBS is highly preferred.

· Exposure to neurology disease states, multiple sclerosis or rare disease field sales experience a plus
