About This Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a National Director, Field Medical, Health Economics and Outcomes Researchto join our team. In this role you will provide leadership and strategic direction for all field Regional Medical Value Liaisons (MVLs). The MVL team is focused on engagement with current and future Key Decision Makers, Opinion leaders, and health economic researchers in US Payer and US Managed Care Organizations. This role reports into the Head of Medical Value Strategy and Execution. The position is a field-based position.

WhatYou’llDo

  • Provide leadership to the Regional MVLs, including performance management, mentorship, and career development; oversee and lead efforts, initiatives and activities of this team.
  • Provide oversight on short & long-term regional medical plans for Key Accounts across multiple business segments and oversee relationships with key accounts in the region for all therapeutic areas and portfolio of Biogen products.
  • Represent and integrate field insights into the team’s strategies and drive the execution of the Payer Engagement plans at the Regional level.
  • The Field Director will be a member of the Medical Values Strategy and Execution (MVSE) Leadership team and will participate and represent the MVSE team on cross functional teams that include US Market Access & Reimbursement, US Medical, Global Medical, Global Value & Access, and Commercial teams

Who YouAre

You are a self-starter and energetic leader and manager of a team of professionals. You have clinical training with work experience in health economics and outcomes research methods. You are a professional with experience working directly with US managed care and payers.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of Medical Affairs experience and 2+ years of experience managing a team of field -based employees preferred
  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD) is preferred
  • Training and experience in health economic and outcomes research methods
  • Demonstrated leadership and management of effective teams
  • Knowledgeable in managed care, medical affairs, and clinical issues affecting the pharmaceutical and managed market industry
  • Excellent communication and formal presentation skills, organizational skills and ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated business acumen, relationship building and cross functional teamwork skills
  • Able to travel 60% of the time, including ability to travel overnight and occasionally on weekends
  • Must be 18 years of age or older with valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Must have authorization and ability to drive a company leased vehicle or rental
