Opportunity Overview
North Shore Community Health (NSCH) is looking for a dedicated Per-Diem Dental Assistant to join our team at the Peabody Family Health Center. Reporting to the Dental Operations Manager, you will work chairside under the direction of dental providers, assisting in delivering exceptional dental services.

Duties/Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms for patients and ensure proper consent forms are obtained.
Welcome, comfort, and seat patients for treatment.
Answer non-clinical questions from patients and staff.
Sterilize and deliver instruments, assist in procedures, and manage dental materials.
Maintain infection control procedures and ensure a clean working environment.
Expose radiographs and assist in diagnostic processes.
Keep clinical areas clean and well-stocked.
Assist in managing dental and medical emergencies.
Educate patients on postoperative care as directed by the provider.
Document dental services in patient records.
Maintain dental equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
Schedule dental appointments accurately.
Provide excellent customer service to patients and coworkers.
Maintain good standing with the Dental Assistant license, earning required credits.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED.
Dental Assistant and Radiology Certificates are required.
At least three years of experience as a dental assistant.
Bilingual in Spanish/Portuguese and English is a plus.
Knowledge of dental equipment, OSHA, and safety compliance.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task.
Familiarity with EPIC/WISDOM is preferred.
Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
Ability to travel to other NSCH sites for meetings and clinical coverage as needed.
Some evening and weekend availability is required.

As a health center, NSCH requires all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19, unless a religious or medical exemption has been granted. Proof of vaccination must be provided before your first day of employment.
