We have embarked on an exciting transformation of our Program Management Office into an Enterprise wide PMO (EPMO). We are in the process of achieving an outcome-based delivery model to achieve our strategic goals and objectives. The Senior Project Manager, in conjunction with the team, is positioned to play a critical leadership role throughout the transition period and beyond. We are looking for a proactive hands-on self-starter who will eagerly learn our core business processes and who can apply their project management skills and experience to deliver outcomes and measurable value. The successful candidate for this role is an individual who can devise and apply faster delivery cycles without diminishing quality.

Responsibilities1. Understands the prevailing enterprise level strategic goals and department level goals in order to assess and align business case statements within Project Mandates and/or Project Briefs. 2. Works within the Project Management Office (PMO) and with Project Sponsor and/or other project stakeholders to create Project Brief artifact for proposed projects including business case, order-of-magnitude estimates and in some cases, projected ROI justifications3. Works with executive sponsor and/or product owner to form project team and establishes the project governance model4. For assigned projects, evaluates and recommends, with sponsor and other select stakeholders the best methodology to assure goals/objectives, time, budget and outcomes are met.5. For traditional predictive projects, aligns project management methodology to project SDLC methodology and creates Master Project plan that identifies, amongst other things, methodology tailoring and project artifacts that will be produced6. Identifies needed project resources including participation in the preparation of RFI/RFP to secure third party services needed to deliver assigned project(s)7. Leads preparation and acceptance of work breakdown structure (WBS) including identification of deliverables, actions, tasks, dependencies and effort estimates8. Plans and tailors project process approach to be compact and exception based while assuring that essential monitoring and control remains in place so as to allow early detection and correction of material deviations that may occur during the project lifecycle9. Develops resource plans as input to effort based, resource leveled, milestone & deliverable based project schedules10. Produces, maintains and communicates various project artifacts including project financial statements, communication plans, change management plans, issue and risk logs, status reports and other project controls as needed11. Conducts meetings with project board members, core team and other stakeholders to solicit and/or share project status and other communications12. Manages project artifacts according to document retention and storage requirements13. Plans and conducts Lessons Learned and supports project retrospectives14. Performs Vendor Management and oversight of 3rd party vendors including review and approval of labor/service charges for accuracy and timeliness15. Performs other related duties as required by position

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience managing projects utilizing PMI/PRINCE2/Agile methodologies & processes
  • Knowledge of Program/Portfolio management concepts desired
  • Bachelor’s degree or greater
  • Experience with managing IT/Infrastructure projects a plus
  • Experience managing Data Warehousing/Analytics and other Enterprise level projects desired
  • Demonstrated mastery of PM role skills and responsibilities
  • Ability to quickly learn CRICO’s core businesses (Underwriting, Claims, Patient Safety research and analytics)
