DevOps Engineer - AIT

Job Posting Description

• Building/configuring/setting up new development tools and infrastructure, including but not limited to: maintaining application server infrastructure; researching, testing, installing/configuring new frameworks/tools; ensuring security standards are met to protect applications from cybersecurity threats; and aiding engineers on the team with adoption of these new technologies/tools.
• Maintaining knowledge of the team's custom software applications, systems that support these applications, and server environments. Helps document and record information on infrastructure, implementation, and support for systems used and/or developed by the group.
• Maintaining and scaling production deployment processes, including infrastructure automation, configuration management, high availability, and related tooling
• Keeping up to date with industry technology trends to assist with maintenance and improvement of the team's infrastructure. Researches and recommends technologies and tools to further the team's mission and projects. Innovates to continuously improve the team's infrastructure and automate manual processes.
• Interacting with project teams to ensure the design of software and data projects fits within the group's infrastructure.
• Maintaining relationships with other groups in Boston Children's Hospital's IT department to keep informed about changes to the hospital's infrastructure and software tools and work on enterprise upgrades that affect the Anesthesia IT department.
• Participating in group activities and contributes to discussions with the whole IT team. Works with team leaders/managers to foster cooperation, collaboration, and communication to facilitate consensus and accomplish tasks. Works closely with the group's Software Engineering Manager.
• Aiding in the planning, tracking, and scheduling of software projects when necessary.
• Providing support to the group and other developers 24x7 when necessary.

• Bachelor's degree and3+ years experience in Development Operations or similar role.Equivalent demonstrable experience in the field is sufficient to offset the Degree.
• Broad and in-depth experience with and knowledge of DevOps engineering.
• Experience supporting web applications in a Production environment, and familiarity with web application architecture.
• Proficient with Linux and Windows server environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to work with technical and non-technical users within and outside of the Anesthesia IT group to explain the functional impact of technical decisions.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud environments is a plus.
• Experience in support of Data & Analytics platforms a plus.
