EY is ready to help our government build a better working world. Our GPS Technology Organization is a structure within the US GPS practice that implements and maintains a new operate and technology model designed specifically to support U.S. defense and Government engagements.  The OpportunityThe SharePoint Online Operations Engineer is part of a global SharePoint (SP) team in a large, complex, and multinational environment. You’ll need to have expert knowledge in SharePoint (both Cloud and On-Prem). You’ll be providing Level 3 Operational/Engineering support for areas involving SharePoint Online, with a good understanding of SPO and associated technologies, SharePoint On-Prem, MS Teams, OneDrive for Business, and other M365 services. Your key responsibilities  Assisting customers in fixing issues and/or creating tickets for Microsoft for further troubleshooting including 24/7 support for SP  

Incident management, Service requests, Change requests and ServiceNow processes for SP support

Level 3 support for SP

PowerShell scripting and automation using scripts

Proactively monitoring outages within a small group or wider group 

This role does not have a direct supervision responsibility but should proactively own tasks/issues and drive towards resolution independently

This role is for 24/7 support and requires working in night shift periodically

Skills and attributes for successDetailed understanding of both Classic and Modern SharePoint functionality including Lists, Document Libraries, Pages, Search, Permissions, and Settings 

In-depth support knowledge and experience in providing 24/7 support for SharePoint  

In-depth knowledge in troubleshooting SP end user/client issues

In-depth knowledge in SP permissions, webparts, lists, views and any other site level issues

Expert knowledge in Incident management, Service requests, Change requests and ServiceNow processes for SP support

In-depth knowledge on SharePoint support workflow, level 1, level 2 and level 3

In-depth knowledge on PowerShell scripting and automation experience using scripts

In-depth knowledge of SharePoint, its features, and related M365 services

History of working credibly within teams and delivering high level of support services on the SP platform 

Proactively anticipates service issues before they occur and able to make recommendations around resolution

Passionate, committed and determined 

Flexibility to the demands of the services we provide and any project to which they are assigned. The role may require out of office hours work  

Ability to communicate platform capabilities to customer and provide appropriate recommendations

Adapts personal communication style to the style of others, develops rapport and stays calm under pressure or escalating issues using advanced oral and written English communication skills

To qualify for the role you must have  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 

2-5 plus years of experience in support role with at least last 1 year in SP support

Strong verbal and written skills including strong cross-cultural communication and the ability to draft effective communications  

Ability to work with people in a variety of cultures, countries and time zones 

Utilizes all aspects of Emotional Intelligence to navigate the interactions and complexities of the business environment and drive leadership performance in oneself and in others.  

Ability to obtain and maintain Top secret security clearance

Knowledge in deploying SP solutions, updating automation scripts and html pages

Knowledge of Power Platform products, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI
