FedNow Associate Project Manager, 18 month Term role-Benefits Eligible

FedNow The Federal Reserve is developing a new interbank 24x7x365 real-time gross settlement (RTGS) service with integrated clearing functionality, called the FedNow service. This service will help enable financial institutions provide their customers with the ability to send and receive payments any time, any day, and have full access to those funds within seconds. This position is a unique opportunity to be part of a new mission-critical Federal Reserve initiative that will be transformative to the payments landscape in the United States.

Position Overview As a Project Management Analyst in the FedNow program team, the selected candidate will be responsible for working at the direction of the FedNow Project Manager to assist in successfully executing upon projects critical to the success of the FedNow program. These projects, some of which may span months or years, will require the successful candidate to have good working knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines:
  • Financial Services / Payments
  • Business Integration
  • Business Operations and Resilience
  • Technology
  • Agile Project Management
The Project Management Analyst (PMA) works under the direction of the FedNow Project Manager and collaborates with other project managers and business partners within in the FedNow organization as well as in other internal or external organizations to identify critical dependencies, risk, and issues that affect the FedNow program. The FedNow PMA is responsible assisting with the variety of tasks to enable the management of the project(s) and/or program(s). Key Responsibilities
  • Support project delivery by following up on status of tasks and milestones in the project plan
  • Meeting management - setting up agenda topics, distributing meeting minutes, and following up on action items
  • Identify and monitor cross project dependencies, critical path, and risks
  • Support PMs and program lead on multiple documentation efforts, helping to coordinate and facilitate completion of approvals throughout multiple channels through to completion
  • Support and schedule daily stand ups
  • Track defects and create a daily/weekly/total feature test defect report
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
  • 1-3 years' experience working with MS Project, MS Project Online required, experience with Sharepoint and Excel optional
  • Proven success in a project analyst and/or project manager
  • Familiarity with Federal Reserve PAF principles is desired or PMI from external
  • Comfortable working in a virtual environment
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
  • Collaborative team player, capable of working well with others, but also autonomously
  • Effective communication skills across a broad audience
