IT Infrastructure Consultant The role of the IT Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME) is to contribute and lead to the execution of two datacenter migrations. Activities include preparing the targeted datacenters to receive the migration workloads and to assist with the migration of 2 data center rooms (physical and virtual) through the deployment of brand-new local infrastructure based on HCI technology with virtualization layer. Lead the transition of operating proceeds (documents and process) to the appropriate global infrastructure team. Ensure security, quality & compliance requirements for the project are met and properly secured according to company standards. Finally, to decommission the legacy data center upon the success data center moves. His/her main interactions are with his/her manager, project stakeholders (sponsor, process owner, business project manager and the different IT departments (Mainly architecture, security, quality, IT support organization). Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage, Organize and Prepare all the activities to move the datacenters to the targeted Datacenter
  • Work Closely with the real estate team to prepare and manage the datacenter migration
  • Identify the capacity needs on the target datacenter to absorb the migration workload
  • Contribute to project plan in close collaboration with the project manager
  • Execute the project plan by migrating the Physicals and Virtual components to the targeted Datacenters
  • Create the documentation required (Project plan, Quality & Compliance deliverables)
  • Integrate the new DELL HCI solution following the project design architecture (Cisco Network, DELL storage, Virtualization “VmWare”, …)
  • Assist with resolving issues related to the migration (power, cabling, Servers, storage, …)
  • Ability to work as a team with IT experts (Network, Infrastructure, Infrastructure partner “Outsourcer”, …).
  • Work closely with the project team (Tasks Coordination, Timeline, Communication, risks, …)
  • Work closely with IT representative to ensure communication and project alignment
  • Familiar with Outsourcing sourcing model, Ability to transition Run activities to the infrastructure partner
  • Hands-on network, Servers operating systems, software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Update documentation for quality compliance, CMDB and layouts.
  • Hands-on datacenter management (servers, racks, fiber / copper cablings etc.),
  • Supporting Project teams for datacenter migration activities
  • Ensure that project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives.
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to project personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Produce status reports and modify schedules or plans as required.
  • Follow standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
