Principal Backend Engineer - Java/Kotlin - Start Up

Description The Duties and Responsibilities of the Principal Backend Engineer includes but are not limited to Design and develop new features for both the web and mobile application Build and administer distributed applications using AWS Develop backend features primarily using Java and Kotlin Collaborate with the Principal Frontend Developer when determining new features Work with the CTO to develop the processes and culture for the team Help hire and mentor more junior developers The ideal Principal Backend Engineer has: BS in Computer Science or related field 5+ years of software engineering experience Previous experience building and administering distributed applications using a major cloud (AWS preferred) Preference for infrastructure as code Expert in Java and Kotlin Proven experience leading teams and projects It's a plus if the candidate has: Experience developing and delivering software in a highly regulated environment This growing start-up builds tools to help businesses understand their cash flow.
