We are seeking compassionate, dynamic and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide care and support to individuals with disabilities in their homes or in a Group Home setting. The successful candidate will provide direct support services in supervising, planning and assisting individuals who are independent and those in wheelchairs to live meaningful and engaging lives.

This position requires DSPs who are interested in being active, planning fun activities and helping the individuals we support, to develop life skills.

REQUIRED:

A valid driver's license - Good driving record (3 Year Driving Record Needed)

Valid car insurance

Active DDA Certification

Active CMT Certificaton

Active CPR/First Aid Certification

MandT Certificate

Blood Borne Pathogen

Ability to pass background check

High energy

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor individuals to ensure safety in regard to medical, health, behavioral, and environmental issues.

Assist with daily living skills as needed (e.g., lifting, transferring, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry, cooking etc.).

Implement Person-centered plans and the Outcomes, Goals, and Strategies.

Complete paperwork as assigned including documentation (e.g., incident reports, progress notes, behavior data, drills etc.).

Conduct trainings and drills as scheduled and as needed.

Assist with banking and budgeting and shopping, when applicable.

Plan, assist, and participate in community outings with individuals (e.g. visiting family, friends, church/temple, shopping, games etc.).

Maintain living environment in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) and health department standards.

Administer and record medications pursuant to State and Agency requirements, when applicable.

Accompany individuals on medical emergencies as needed.

Work with individuals as assigned by Supervisor.

Complete all agency required trainings for position.

Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or House Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma/G.E.D.

Experience with Development Disabilities/Intellectual Disabilities is preferred

Must be Certified Medication Technician (CMT), have CPR, First Aid Certification and complete all other required DDA trainings within 72 hours of hire.

Maryland driver’s license required and driving record must show no more than 3 points

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must assist with daily living skills as needed (e.g., lifting, transferring, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry and cooking).

May be required to lift /assist in transferring individuals.

Maryland driver’s license required and approved clean driving record necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Shifts: 7am to 3pm

3pm to 11pm

11pm to 7am

Monday through Sunday

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 60 per week
