This role is responsible for managing a team of UX Designers and Researchers in a high visibility enterprise program, using various methods in a fast-paced environment that crosses multiple business divisions and operating companies globally. The UX Team aims to quickly deliver experiences that help our customers succeed. Our cross-functional UX team will partner closely with product teams to envision and ship new approaches to help employers achieve their hiring goals better and faster. The UX IS Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating the UX team to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering exceptional business value to users. Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
  • Lead the team to deliver the strategic roadmap, as defined in partnership with Agile Product management and UX team senior leadership, providing input and optimizing application value and effectiveness against strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure the team gains expertise in the end-to-end experience to ensure a complete understanding of its role in both the problem and solution space for any effort the team tackles.
  • The ideal motivated leader is team-oriented, collaborative in nature, and passionate about leadership. Leads the team by example, cultivating innovation. Responsible for hiring, coaching and development, motivating, mentoring, retention, employee satisfaction, and performance management.
  • Responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating the UX team to achieve a high level of performance and quality in line with UX best practices and research.
  • Monitoring and managing team capacity. Ensure the team is properly aligned to business and product priorities and expectations, so the UX teams can commit to, and deliver on commitments, with the goal to delight users, both internal and external.
  • Establish trusting and collaborative working relationships with external business partners, technology providers, and vendors. Effectively manage budgets and vendor relationships for all areas of responsibility. Monitor and manage the performance and quality of vendor deliveries.
  • Facilitate and bridge the gap in conversations that span engineering, product management, design, design technology, UX research, content strategy, and product science, among others.
  • Partner with other UX leaders from the broader design community to ensure the vision and product experiences fit into the broader Indeed vision.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership. decision-making and commucation skills are neceassary to perform the functions as described.

Supervisory or Management Responsibility:
  • Act as an empathetic Coach-Leader, coaching others in their development as leaders, catalyzing the growth of peoples capacity to embrace greater complexity, and focus on helping others formulate their development agenda
  • Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity; and mentoring team members
  • Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team
  • Management responsibility for the teams, including hiring, leadership, development and accountability for performance.
  • Establish operational/team objectives and goals.

Budget Responsbilitiy:
  • Develops and manages budget
  • Produces monthly forecasts
  • Approves operational expenditures
  • Plans capacity fluctuations based on roadmap

Minimum Education and/or Experience:
  • BA or BS or equivalent experience is required
  • 4-6 years of experience in user experience design and/or research
  • 3 or more years of experience in empathetic leadership

  • Stellar communications skills with a strong ability to collaborate compassionately and inclusively with cross-functional partners (Research, Design, Product, Engineering, Marketing)
  • Experience incorporating business and product development frameworks into the design process (OKRs, lean development, or quantitative market studies)
  • Proven ability to lead UX teams to ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met
  • Solid understanding of the Agile software development life cycle models, especially in SAFe methodology
  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels, including the executive level
  • Experience managing large budgets and finances
  • Prior expereince in the Talent Acquisition industry is a plus, but not required
