DevOps Software Engineer, SeniorThe Challenge:

Are you looking for an opportunity to not just develop software, but to build a system that will help drive modernization initiatives to support national security? As a DevOps Software Engineer, you can help build and enhance complex and diverse software systems. We're looking for a developer to build systems that might include processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, business management information systems, and systems which incorporate data repositories, data transport services, and application and systems development monitoring. We're looking for someone like you to have a direct impact on the nation's security.

This role is more than just coding. We need a DevOps Engineer who will monitor, sustain, and troubleshooting operational Machine Learning systems, Graph Analytics system software, distributed file systems, and storage components in a large High-Power Computing (HPC) UNIX environment. You will also develop custom processors to perform Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) on Big Data. You will devise methods to improve existing operational data flow processing, distribution, and reliability. Join us as we build systems to change our client's mission for the better.

You Have:

-Experience with developing in UNIX and Linux environments

-Experience with Java, Bash, and Python

-Experience with distributed files systems, including HDFS and GPFS

-Experience with NoSQL technologies, including Accumulo

-Experience with using Apache NiFi canvas and developing custom NiFi processors

-Knowledge of IaC principles and automation tools, including Ansible, SaltStack, and Puppet

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-BA or BS degree and 5+ years of experience in engineering roles or 7+ years of experience in engineering roles in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:

-Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes

-Experience with Elastic Stack, including Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats, and Logstash

-Experience with time-series visualization tools, including Grafana

-Experience with Atlassian tool suite and GIT source code repository

-Knowledge of HPC regarding compute, network, memory, and storage components

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
