Systems Administrator/Engineer (80% Remote)

We are seeking a seasoned Systems Administrator/Engineer to join our team, supporting a hybrid cloud solution for the Department of Defense’s public web program. We need your core expertise with language/scripting skills in PowerShell, along with technologies to maintain Windows Infrastructure to ensure high levels of reliability and availability, both on-prem and in the cloud. This position can be supported primarily remote but will necessitate some onsite work at Ft. Meade, Maryland.

• Deploy and support the Windows Platform via Infrastructure as Code to include the use of PowerShell and more.
• Maintain a Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipeline to ensure timely delivery of developer code and system configurations.
• Develop and manage physical and virtual servers with VMWare in support of the Web Mission
• Deploy and support ASP.Net applications using technology such as IIS, ARR, Microsoft SQL Server and other web related technologies.
• Write PowerShell to automate redundant tasks.

• 3-5 years of relevant professional experience building out and ramping up Microsoft Windows Server infrastructures
• Scripting Skills (PowerShell strongly preferred)
• Understanding of DevOps and Agile
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code practices to include Version Control, Build Servers, CI/CD Pipelines, or Orchestration technologies
• Understanding of IIS and related Web technologies
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Servers
• Experience with a virtualization platform such as VMWare
• Fundamental knowledge of networking and common protocols
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Strong written/verbal communication skills

• Security certification such as Security+ certification such as 8570 at IAT Level II (VVNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, Security+CE, CND, SSCP, or higher.
• US citizenship
• Active secret clearance.

• Kubernetes and Docker experience are a plus.
• Certified in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with technologies such as Github, Splunk, and JIRA/Confluence.
• Knowledge of configuration management using tools such as Desired State, Configuration (DSC), Chef, or Puppet.
• Experience with a CDN such as Akamai.
• Experience supporting web-based Content, Knowledge, or Learning Management Systems (CMS / KMS / LMS).
• Helpful certifications include but are not limited to: MCSA, MCSE, Server+, CISSP, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, and Azure or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
