I. General Summary
Under limited supervision, assists in strategic planning design and implementation of core technologies. Receives limited instructions on routine work and general instructions over projects. Participates utilizing project management skills to include planning, scheduling & testing, leading to successful go-lives. Advanced technical skills and working knowledge in vertical.II. Principal Responsibilities and TasksThe following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.1. Supports System Administrator IV or V in designing, building, implementing, and developing operational plans for a Hospital Datacenter. 2. Receives little instructions on day to day operations for all hardware, operating systems, virtualization, storage, backups, patching, as well as monitoring the health of core applications. 3. Participates in designing, planning, configuration, documentation, deployment and top-level support ownership of verticals. 4. Works closely with Healthcare IT leaders to understand their requirements for design and proactively identifies improvement opportunities and makes recommendations.5. Resolves wide range of incidents and participates in problem management activities.6. Assists manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, especially with regard to problem diagnosis and resolution.7. Exhibits accuracy, attention to detail, ability to work effectively and diplomatically in a team environment, and ability to work in an atmosphere of multiple projects and shifting priorities.8. Understands technical strategies to maintain the integrity and availability of a large datacenter serving an enterprise Hospital System. 9. Understands how the full life cycle of application and technology implementation including:• Technical Integration with corresponding technologies• Data integrity• Security Controls• Application availability10. Involved in designs and implementations of highly available application infrastructure leveraging Load Balancers, GSLB, Multi-datacenter infrastructure, and SQL Always-On Availability Groups. 11. Proficient in building complex architectural diagrams and proposals using Visio and similar tools.III. Education and Experience1. Bachelor's degree with minimum of 5 years of IT experience or the equivalent of education, experience and IT certification/s.2. Experienced with systems administration design in an enterprise environment to include data center migrations, up-time, disaster recovery and capacity security planning preferred.IV. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities1. Must have advanced technical skills and working knowledge in at least one or more vertical. List is not inclusive as technology changes often.- VMWare
