RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Columbia, MD.

Responsibilities: Senior Data Engineer will write unit and integration tests for all data processing code Work with DevOps engineers on CI, CD, and IaC Read specs and translate them into code and design documents As a Senior Data Engineer, you will perform code reviews and develop processes for improving code quality Continue growth and modernization of current data repositories Increase collaboration and data sharing for internal/external stakeholders Improve data availability and timeliness by implementing more frequent refreshes, tiered data storage, and optimizations of existing datasets Senior Data Engineers simplify/automate data access, reduce data duplication, and increase data quality Maintain security and privacy for data at rest and while in transit Reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for data-centric solutions Engage other teams to explore opportunities to collaborate and use centralized data repository services Expand data choices to include additional data domains/categories - such as Part C, as well as Clinical data and Clinical Quality Measures data from additional sources, such as End-Stage Renal Disease Quality Reporting System (EQRS), Hospital Quality Reporting (HQR), and Quality Payment Program (QPP) Make datasets available for cross-program analysis and increase collaboration among analytic organizations Senior Data Engineers offer Bring-Your-Own-Data (BYOD) options to end users

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree required; Strong preference for Computer Science 7+ years of hands on software development experience; 4+ years of Data pipeline experience using Python, Java and cloud technologies; Experienced in designing data architecture for shared services, scalability and performance; Experienced in designing data services including API, meta data and data catalog; Experienced in data governance process to ingest (batch, stream), curate, and share data with upstream and downstream data users; experience with healthcare quality data, such as provider data, beneficiary data, claims data, and quality measure data and Part A, B, C and D datasets Experienced working in Cloud development platform that includes tools such as these: AWS (server & serverless services), Ansible or Terraform, CloudFormations, Python, Jenkins, Git, Security scanning tools (Nessus, BurpSuite, Netsparker, OWASP, etc.), IaC (Infrastructure as Code) techniques for the full stack of Dev/Data Analytics, QA tools, Dev/Data Analytics, QA - SaS Viya, Hadoop, airflow, AWS EMR hbase/hive, Quicksight, Apache Ranger/Knox, AWS IAM, Ambari, Hive, Sagemaker, Zepelin, Jupyter, python stack, Java stack) Experience with Agile methodology, using test-driven development Excellent command of written and spoken English Candidate must reside in the United States Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary

Tools & Technology: Python, Java, Postgres, Redshift, Apache NiFi, Express, Airflow, AWS EMR, Looker, Mongo, Use of BI tools & AWS resources

Nice to Have: Experience working in the healthcare industry Federal Government contracting work experience
