Description:Work is in support of thermal systems group and consists of a number of different product lines. Will be designing structural elements, heat lines or pipes

Integrated thermal systems. Panel heat pipe design, heat transfer systems where they actually pull and transfer heat to outside a spacecraft, and they do panels and components that are put together for those kinds of things.

Almost exclusively for spacecraft/space stations

They support commercial (comm satellites), national defense (sensors, instruments), and science and technology missions thru nasa. Could diff nasa programs going on, support GOES, HALO.Designs major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal. Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost. Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development. Makes layouts of complex assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures. Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.Work schedules: 9/80 schedule.Work environment: Fully on-site for the first month except for fridays. After the first month, every other day will be remote.Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Design with 3 years of experience or Associates Degree with 7 years of experience or 10 years relevant experience

PTC Creo 7.0 Parametric & PDMLink Windchill 11.0 or higher experience is a must

Experience in 3D CAD modeling using standard commercial CAD software

Experience in 2D drafting and drawing creation from 3D models

Experience modifying existing 2D drawings and 3D CAD models

Minimum 3-9 years technical experience in design and fabrication of special tooling and related equipment.

Experience in advanced assembly techniques in Creo Parametric including skeleton driven top-down design, simplified reps and other large assembly management techniques

Demonstrated ability to evaluate vendor and equipment capability and ability to perform required tasks to include production of tooling as well as unique aerospace part production.

Creo modeling and drafting experience.

Strong communications skills are a must.

Must be able to work independently.

Experience applying and interpreting ASME Y14.5 drawing standards

Knowledge of applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to drawings

Technical Skills: Strong candidates for this position will possess:
