We're seeking a Staff Cyber Software Engineer to join our Peraton team in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. This position will encompass joining a team of system and software engineers responsible for service products and systems affiliated with both the Content and Event Warehouses (CWH & EWH). The candidate will have a primary focus in systems, hardware and software engineering performing and providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and performing technical/ non-technical assessment and management as well as end-to-end flow analysis. Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 14 years of relevant experience or a high school diploma and 18 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum fourteen (14) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Minimum four (4) years' experience out of the most recent five (5) years as a software development or lifecycle support lead or subsystem top level contributor on mission critical 24 by 7 productions systems in one of the following areas:
  • Voice or video processing system requiring ingest of multiple audio and video formats, playback to end users, storage, and retrieval.
  • Metadata indexing, metadata summarization, content and metadata data mining, visualization and analytics.
  • Distributed Peer to Peer content storage and retrieval systems with more than 500 nodes
  • Average ingest, storage, content search and retrieval of 500GB/day or more of multilingual text.
  • Field deployable voice processing systems including data capture of multiple audio formats playback, ingest, storage and retrieval.
  • Transcription systems requiring input, synchronization and linkage with original content, storage, and retrieval.
  • Active TS/SCI with poly clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing solutions which integrated or extended COTS or GOTS products, evaluating project needs, determining tasks and durations, allocating resources, generating and reviewing designs for technical accuracy, completeness and appropriateness in light of objectives, budget, and schedule, on NSA projects.
  • Experience developing production software for one of the following environments: Windows .NET, Solaris, or Linux OS. Experience in developing systems performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid to large scale system/programs.
  • Ability to work in high pressure, highly flexible environment against both short and long term requirements
  • Candidate must be highly organized, thorough, self-motivated, proactive and outgoing. Extensive collaboration with project personnel and partner/customer groups is required - Strong communications skills is a must
  • Self-starter who is able to get up to speed quickly and can work independently
  • Collaborative attitude and team-oriented
