HII - Cyber & Electronic Warfare is looking for an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to take on a high-visibility role, working hand-in-hand with our customer to support mission management, process development, risk assessments, and assist with the integration of Emerging Technologies in their Annapolis Junction, MD location.

You will participate as the primary security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and/or integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments. As an ISSE, you will assist tour customer in evaluating configurations of commercial products to be used in layered solutions to protect classified data. As an ISSE, you will:
  • Identify points of vulnerability and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Validate and verify system security requirements.
  • Analyze system security designs.
  • Design, develop, and implement security systems and components, including components for networking, computing, and support environments.
  • Assists in system planning, development, and deployment to ensure compliance with security standards and requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance in Information Assurance concepts, principles, and standards including definition and use of IA-related metadata and threat and risk analysis.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Perform analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

A summary of your additional responsibilities is as follows:
  • Perform analyses of architectures and provide technical guidance in the development of functional requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance on Enterprise systems engineering and architecture concepts and principles.
  • Analyze commercial solutions to ensure that the defined capabilities continue to provide the security services and robustness required to account for technology development, new security issues, and new use cases.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 9 years experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is requirement. An additional 4 years of ISSE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
  • DoD 8570.01-M compliance with IASAE Level 2 is required (CISSP).
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with developing systems engineering documentation, systems requirements, and functional requirements.
  • Experience in engineering cross-domain solutions.
