Dietetic Technician

Job Descriptions:The Dietary Technician is a clinical and clerical position under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor and Consultant Dietician. This position is responsible for therapeutic diets and or obtaining/maintaining resident food and nutrition information to assure that each resident is provided a nourishing, well-balanced diet that meets the daily nutritional and special dietary needs of each resident. Assures that dietary services are provided in accordance with current federal, state, local and VA regulations governing the facility. Assists with menu and recipe planning. Carries out recommendations of RD and assists RD in developing, documenting, communicating, implementing and monitoring nutrition care plans. Interacts with residents upon admission and regularly thereafter to understand likes/dislikes, educate residents on therapeutic diets and assess quality of meals. Regular schedule is Monday - Friday days 24 hours. Required Experience:Successful candidate will possess current State of Maine Dietetic Technician License in good standing. Minimum of 1 year Dietetic Tech experience required. Prior long-term care, geriatric and/or hospital experience preferred.
