Job Description:
The goal of the Pineland Farms’ education department is to educate and connect visitors to agriculture in a safe, engaging, hands-on way. Providing visitors with meaningful experiences on the farm is the main role of our educators and changes with the season.
Pineland Farms’ sees thousands of visitors over the course of the year and farm educators are an integral part of our team. From the corn maze in the fall through farmyard magic moments in the spring, there is always something special happening.
Full-time (30-40hrs) & Part-time (10-29hrs) year-round positions available. This position could work well for parents looking to join our vibrant farm community. We offer goat snuggles as a free bonus!
To be successful in this position you must be excited about agriculture, enjoy working with the public and be comfortable interacting with our animals.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Engage visitors in Pineland Farms’ mission, services, history and products through
formal programs and less formal “meet and greet a farm animal” type of experiences
Uphold excellent guest services in a sometimes fast-paced environment (Including point of sale/answering phone/record keeping etc.)
Communicate effectively with other staff and supervisors to create a respectful and open work environment
Supplementary chores associated with engagement, the family farmyard animals, gardens and general farmyard maintenance
Provide support during special events
Requirements:
Week day and weekend availability (Flexible schedule)
Willingness to work with the public and a variety of livestock
Minimum of 16 years of age
Salary & Benefits:
Starting wage of $16.50/hour (Depends on experience)
20% off in-store purchases
Free admission for Pineland Farms activities such as farm visits, cross-country skiing, disc golf, mountain biking, etc.
