- Troubleshoot, engineer, implement and/or improve process measurement and instrumentation, control systems, safety systems, process analyzers, process control computers and networks
- Participate on teams that design and execute projects to make the plant safer and more efficient and reliable
- Provide daily technical I and E or control systems support Control Systems Engineering
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot control schemes
- Develop process models used in predictive control schemes and troubleshoot existing schemes
- Support or develop models used in unit optimization
- Support or engineer on-line process analyzer systems
- Optimize how humans interact with computer-based control systems
- Activities and duties will vary dependent upon functional area assigned.
- Activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Discipline engineering lead: manage technical team for the discipline, provides expertise in defining technical requirements and complete design. Inspect completed projects to ensure conformance with design standards. Apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects. Design, maintain, implement, and improve electrical instruments and equipment. Supervise and train project staff as needed. Prepares detailed design of projects in compliance with governing codes, regulatory requirements. Solves problems by using a combination of standard procedures, modification of standard procedures. Education, Experience, Skills and Knowledge. 10+ years of experience in electrical design and engineering, mechanical and control systems, electrical estimation, quality control, inter-discipline coordination, proposal engineering, and training team members. Experience in chemical plants and refineries.
