Come build your career with Boeing!The Boeing Space Launch System (SLS) team is seeking an independent Senior Industrial Engineer with tooling experience to join the team at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans, LA . The successful candidate will improve and manage SLS tooling metrics, ensure compliance to tooling preventive maintenance plan, and facilitate tooling process improvementBoeing and NASA are building the world’s largest rocket for human exploration of deep space. The Space Launch System (SLS) provides a critical heavy-lift capability, powering people and cargo beyond our moon and into deep space to enable diverse exploration, science and security missions.Position Responsibilities:Improve and manage SLS tooling metrics

Manage tooling production readiness activities

Participate on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to align tooling production need date.

Coordinate cross-discipline to ensure tooling production readiness

Implement lean principles and technologies

Ensure compliance to tooling preventive maintenance plan

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility .Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Experience with industrial engineering

5+ years of experience with Lean Manufacturing, problem solving and process improvement

1+ year of experience leading cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):1+ years of experience working with tooling

Experience project management

3+ years of experience working with recovery/out of sequence schedules

Typical Education/Experience:Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
