Oracle NMS application architect

Job Description:

• This position is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, developing and implementing policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of business application systems. In addition, this position leads and is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of system applications to support and improve company systems and processes, particularly those involving multiple departments.
• Oversees application development activities to ensure integration and alignment with other IT technology, systems, applications and environment.
• Collaborates across divisions to identify and implement strategic solutions.
• Monitors business needs and translates needs into strategic, long-term application architecture solutions.
• Consults with end users to provide business solutions to business problems.
• Generates ideas for improving business processes, application systems and system integration.

• Manage Oracle Network Management System (NMS) software on Client's standard infrastructure and network platforms.
• Manage Oracle NMS software, including software configuration and scripting; maintaining integration and interfaces between systems.
• Manage the testing and deployment of patches and software upgrades.
• Assisting with various home grown applications to support the overall Distribution Systems portfolio such as web apps used for outage management.
• Perform system security administration tasks.
• Develop data queries and reporting solutions to meet business and regulatory requirements.
• Solve complex problems and troubleshoot functionality for issue identification (including debugging); work in conjunction with other IT personnel.
• Understands and considers standard concepts, best practices and procedures related to application development.
• Expertise in multiple programming languages and system environments.
• Expertise in at least 4 major application systems/business functions.
• Understands and considers business goals, corporate IT standards, and department strategy and service level agreements.
