This position is in Kansas City, MO Summary: The Equipment Engineer provides engineering support to the Production and Maintenance organizations for the operation and maintenance of production equipment. The Equipment Engineer assists with new equipment specifications, checkouts, and installations, maintains equipment library files, develops and maintains preventive and predictive maintenance procedures, leads complex troubleshooting activities related to breakdowns and other reliability/throughput issues, assures compliance with HSE and other regulatory requirements, and executes projects to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and uptime You Must Have: Must be a US citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a government security clearance

Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution

Six or more years of Engineering experience

Experience working with complex machines and their design, installation, repair, and/or upgrade

Ability to work without supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision making

Ability to provide technical guidance, project management, consultative services, and innovative solutions

Ability to troubleshoot machine problems and determine root cause and appropriate corrective action for machine breakdowns

Experience with maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, upgrading and/or modifying complex production manufacturing or laboratory equipment and automated controls

Significant experience with automated equipment controls including Computer Numerical Control (CNC), PLC, and PC controlled equipment

Understanding of electrical theory, circuits, and hardware applications

Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and logic sequences

Machine design experience including modifications, upgrades, improvements, and/or modernization of production equipment

Experience in the use of CAD and/or solid modeling (AutoCad, Solidworks).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Experience in a manufacturing facility

Project leadership experience

Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
